The European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Entreprises (EASME) has relieved the former Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI), as the support provider to the most innovative SMEs in the continent.
EASME will be in charge of managing the new Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME), framed under the Horizon 2020 Programme. As to fulfill this duty, this agency will dispose of a €2.3 billion budget for the period 2014-2020.
The new Executive Agency will also manage the calls related to themes like climate and energy under the Horizon 2020, as well as those comprised under the new LIFE Programme.
