EUR 400 M to finance projects in Spanish SMEs and midcaps

An agreement between the EIB and a Spanish financial institution will make loans available to SMEs and midcaps for developing projects that ensure a growth and job creation.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed an agreement with Bankinter for providing to enterprises in the industrial and services sectors with EUR 200 million each party, for them to be able to develop projects contributing towards the EU policy goals, i.e., the growth and job creation.

The beneficiaries of this credit line will be SMEs (under 250 employees) and midcaps (under 3000 employees). They could benefit from long-term finance at low interest rates. So, Spanish SMEs could ask for financing support up to EUR 25 million, being the amount up to EUR 50 million in the case of midcaps.
