Competing for the Environment and Energy

On January 1, 2019, the Compete4SECAP energy efficiency competition was launched, in which buildings from 32 European municipalities participate because it is the building that saves the most energy during the year 2019. In Spain, employees in twelve buildings in Ceutí, Cieza, Las Torres de Cotillas and Murcia were trained in energy efficiency by EuroVértice to improve energy saving skills at work and thus contribute to mitigating climate change in their municipalities and become the winners of the competition.

At the moment, the national competition is led by the Centro de Atención Temprana de Las Torres de Cotillas, closely followed by their rivals, so there is still everything to decide. This type of competition will provide energy savings and environmental benefits for the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants of these territories. Supporting materials and information are fully accessible through the project website and its activities can be followed by subscribing to its newsletter by clicking here. EuroVértice as a partner of the European project Compete4SECAP and thanks to its specialisation in energy and environment, collaborates by supporting municipalities in the framework of a competition at European level which aims to help local authorities to implement or improve their Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs).

The project implemented in 8 European countries promotes the adoption of standardized energy management systems through the coordination of national competitions, training and exchange of experiences. This project is part of the European Horizon 2020 Programme and four municipalities are participating in Spain: Las Torres de Cotillas, Murcia, Cieza and Ceutí.
