Betting on the cultural sector has European support

In the European Cultural Heritage year, different opportunities for European cultural heritage and creative and cultural industries, representing 3% of European GDP and employment, are constantly appearing.

Europa Creativa finances the so-called Cultural Cooperation Projects, one of the key lines of funding for cultural projects that promote the cultural training of civil society, the development of audiences for new forms of art and the mobility and exchange of artists between different European cities.

Projects must respond to a problem that can only be solved with the collaboration of international partners, there must be an added value that makes this transnational collaboration necessary.

The partners can be public or private entities whose objective is the promotion and cultural activity. There is a special interest in the promotion of the creative and cultural industries.

The projects that will launch their call shortly are of 2 types:

Small-scale projects: This type of project requires the participation of at least 3 partners from at least 3 countries and is eligible for a maximum grant of up to 200,000 euros – the co-financing rate being 60%. The average duration of projects must be at least 20 months and a maximum of 2 years.

Large scale projects: This type of project requires the participation of at least 6 partners from at least 6 countries and is eligible for a maximum grant of up to EUR 2 million – the grant rate being 50%. The average duration of projects must be at least 3 years and a maximum of 4 years.

EuroVértice has worked in the cultural sector and European funding, as in 2008 it developed a Strategic Intangible Heritage Plan for the Region of Murcia and collaborated with municipal entities in the development and implementation of a Cultural Cooperation project funded at European level.
