EuroVértice is LIFE

The call for Environment and Resource Efficiency of the LIFE Programme closed this June (17 and 20). As reported on the programme’s website, more than 1,100 “Concept Notes” have been received to invest more than 4 billion Euros in actions to protect nature and the environment. Applying for around 2.2 billion Euros in LIFE Programme grants, 54% of the proposals fall under the Environment and Resource Efficiency priority area, 31% under Nature and Biodiversity and 15% under Information and Environmental Governance.

EuroVértice has presented two proposals, one on Environment and Resource Efficiency and the other on Nature and Biodiversity. The aim of the first is to improve the urban ecosystem linked to the wooded areas of European cities and hence the ecosystem services that these green infrastructures offer. The second, also on green infrastructures but in the natural environment, trying to improve the state of conservation of habitats associated with these systems for better regulation and provision of ecosystem services and to promote connectivity between areas of high ecological value.

In both projects, the planned actions will have a direct effect on the improvement of the ecosystem services provided by these landscape backbones, with evaluation and mapping of these services foreseen during the projects.

We continue to work to contribute to the adaptation to climate change of our cities for the September call of the Climate Action Subprogramme.

EuroVértice counts with specialization in environmental issues, consultants specialising in this programme and more than 14 LIFE projects have been carried out.
